Current Research
Mushfiqa's current research is focused on developing theory and tools for individual behavior change that draws on insights from embodied cognitive science and complexity theory. Her research takes as its starting point the understanding of individuals as embodied beings who are embedded within a web of processes that are happening simultaneously at multiple scales (e.g. biological, psychological, social, ecological, spiritual). Mushfiqa's research explores whether strengthening an individual's awareness of themselves as existing within this ecology can help them become more conscious agents of change, enabling them to practice shaping themselves and their environment more effectively and in mutually beneficial ways.
